Dr. Alan Hart has held positions with several major companies working in all areas of occupational health, personnel, process, design and production safety, and environmental services. He has consulted, managed litigation, performed occupational health and safety management evaluations and audits, investigated major incidents and performed many other related activities for over 26 years.

Dr. Hart earned a PhD in Inorganic Chemistry at the University of Maryland, then studied organic chemistry at Texas A&M University as a Welch Postdoctoral Fellow. He also lectured at Texas A&M in the chemistry program. He served as an associate professor at Midland College in Industrial Engineering and as an NIOSH Postdoctoral Fellow at Texas A&M University for a year.

He is a Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) and a Certified Safety Professional (CSP), a member of the Royal Society of Chemistry, American Chemical Society as well as other professional societies. He has published on a variety of topics.
